Funny to think that just a few months ago our Colindale space was an empty shell and now here we are introducing our very own in-house Yoga instructor! We wanted someone who shares our passion for wellbeing and all things mindfulness, so when we met Sarah we knew we’d found our Yogi. So we’ll leave it to our very own Sarah to tell you a bit more about Simply Yoga
Hi, I’m Sarah,
When I’m not teaching yoga I spend my time bringing up my teenage niece, managing an unruly cockapoo called Millie and work freelancing in events…so I truly understand the need to find some balance and practice a bit of self-care.
Like many people, I first came to yoga for the physical practice and had an on-off love affair with it. I was a fitness instructor and PT in my twenties and I used it solely as part of a fitness regime to gain flexibility, strength and occasional rehabilitation after numerous injuries.
I found yoga again later in life when I needed it most. It helped me connect to a deeper level of understanding and compassion for myself and others, but mostly it kept me sane and grounded when life was throwing me a few curve balls.
That’s what set me on deeper exploration; I thought that if it helped me then it may help others to cope with daily life and I wanted to pass that feeling on in some way. I did my foundation course with Triyoga in Covent Garden to see if what I loved to do would lead me back to teaching. A year later I had embarked on an 18-month long journey of self-discovery with the Yoga Campus Teacher Training diploma at the Life Centre in Islington.
For some people Yoga can be a lifeline when they are facing tough times, helping them to find their inner peace. For others, it’s just a physical practice that leaves them feeling great. Either way, it’s all just simply yoga, wherever you are in your life or your yoga practice all you need to do is just show up…
I try to teach all-inclusive classes for every level, some days we flow, some days we stay in the poses longer to find stillness and just breath.
If you want to make some time to reconnect with yourself or just improve your overall wellness then come along to a class.
Sounds great right? London life is hard, sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves. So, take some time for yourself and book into a class with Sarah. Secure your place by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Classes take place on Mondays from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm in our Colindale branch.
