Areaworks is growing fast! With our Hoxton space just days away from opening and many more exciting ventures on the horizon, it’s about time our team expanded as well. With this, came the challenge of finding our first ever Community Representative, and then we found Kat. The very first time we met Kat, it was clear that she was exactly what we were looking for. Exuding nothing but chilled vibes and great ideas, Kat was an easy fit into the Areaworks team. Currently based at our Manor House space, Kat will soon be flying the nest to take the reins in Hoxton (with frequent visits from the Manor House team for rooftop drinks I’m sure)! Here’s Kat to tell you her story:
My name is Kat, and my role is Community Representative for Areaworks. I recently took the plunge and moved to London to start the next chapter of my life and am loving every second of it! I graduated at Loughborough University with a degree in Illustration and Visual Communication and I am also a qualified Zumba instructor. I have been very lucky to be able to utilise all my knowledge skills for my new job at Areaworks.
I love the concept of coworking, where a variety of people come together to work under one roof. It’s a great way for people to network and potentially work together on future projects in a productive environment.
When I first met Emma and Jude, they were a huge contributing factor in my decision to work for Areaworks. Their positive, friendly attitude, combined with their business ethos, helped me decide to be part of the Areaworks team, knowing I would be part of such a great work culture. Additionally, I felt that being part of a start-up is the perfect opportunity to learn about the process of a growing business and progress my career.
I am loving every moment of working for Areaworks. Each day is different and tasks vary hugely, from admin jobs, hosting office tours, to designing event posters and everything in between. The work culture is great here, and everyone treats everyone equally and most importantly – there is great banter! Not to forget our social Friday afternoons sampling our local 7Sisters beer!
After a long day at work, I love to wind down by either working out at my local gym or busting out my latina moves in a Zumba class. Food wise, I’m a major burger fan and am making my way through the many amazing burger restaurants in London. So far, my favourite burger place has to be in Spitalfields market called Bleecker St. Their burgers are just something else – I would highly recommend! The thought of those burgers right now is making me super hungry! If you know any good burger places, please let me know – I will be sure to try it out!

Areaworks is a provider of open supportive coworking office spaces in accessible areas throughout London. We don’t believe in stuffy central locations, long commutes, impersonal and uptight environments. We offer complete turnkey work place solutions for start-ups, creatives, freelancers, and entrepreneurs. We design our desk coworking to feel open, to encourage collaboration and productivity, to inspire you to think differently. Areaworks currently has two coworking spaces in prime London locations. The first resides in Manor House, an area very close to our hearts (and where it all began). Our second space recently opened in Hoxton, one of the fastest growing areas for all things innovation, in London.
