Manor House Grand Opening
Here at Areaworks we love all you creative types, so for our first ever event we wanted to create a space for the talented people of Manor House to showcase their art and share their ideas. Thus, on Friday 9th of March, we threw open our doors to the entire community for an evening of homegrown art, music, food, and beer!
Weeks of prep went into creating the perfect evening. From the start, we wanted to include the local community in the preparations for the event. We put out an advert asking local artists and businesses if they would like to be included in the event, and we were overwhelmed by the response we received. We were contacted by local artists, musicians and entrepreneurs who were all willing to take part. It was a hard job, but we managed to narrow down the list and we chose some truly talented people who helped us to transform our space for the evening.
The event itself was an evening of stories and exchange of ideas. Music was provided by local musician Josh Carr, which gave a laid back open mic feel to the evening. All of this was set against a background of amazing local art. Alongside some good London grub, local brewers Seven Sisters Brewery, who have come a long way from brewing beer in their kitchen in Islington: https://www.facebook.com/sevensisbrew/.
Our coworking space was truly buzzing with energy all through the night.
The event was free flowing, which gave people the chance to come and go as they pleased. It was a great opportunity for the local artists to show off their work and for the local community to find out about the talent that surrounds them in Manor House and Haringey.
Artists who took part in the event were:

The evening was full of fun and it gave us a chance to showcase our co-working and event space and for everyone in Manor House to meet the amazingly talented folk who inhabit this area. It was also a chance for us to raise money for our chosen charity, Mind in Haringey. For every beer that was given out by Seven Sister Brew, a donation was made to Mind in Haringey.
